What is the WinSTEP 2000 project? 

The WinSTEP 2000 project is a suite of groundbreaking components for the Windows 32-bit environment. 

The purpose of this suite is to provide usability enhancements to the standard Explorer Shell while at the same time providing the user with unlimited flexibility. 

The first component of the WinSTEP suite was NextSTART, a powerful Start Menu and Taskbar replacement. Other components are Workshelf and Font Browser, with more forthcoming.

What is NextSTART? 

NextSTART is a powerful, dynamic pop-up menu that can be used as a replacement or supplement to the Windows Start Menu and Taskbar. NextSTART also offers an incredible amount of flexibility so that the user can customize it to his needs and wishes.

WARNING!!! 

WinStep Full Pak requires the VB5 (Visual Basic 5) Runtime files.

These are not included. If you do not have these files
( Msvbvm50.dll, Oleaut32.dll, Olepro32.dll, Stdole2.tlb, 
Asycfilt.dll, Comcat.dll ) on your system directory,
please download the VB5 runtime files from:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?releaseid=12651

NextSTART and WorkShelf use Zip/Unzip -from the Info-ZIP group- to 
export/import themes from zip files. 
There are no extra charges or costs due to the use of
this code, and the original compression sources are freely available from
http://www.cdrom.com/pub/infozip/ or ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/infozip/
on the Internet.

NextSTART and WorkShelf also use Draw DLL for Windows 9x/NT, 
created by the KPD-Team 1999

INSTALLATION: To install Winstep Full Pak,
please follow these directions.

1) If any Winstep software is currently running please unload it.

2) Run Setup.exe and complete the installation.

3) If you have the file NextScrollBars.ocx in your \WINSTEP
     folder, please delete it. It is no longer used.

4) You should run NextSTART first - This will change your wallpaper
to the one use by the default theme if you allow it, and install the
NextSTART themes that are also used by WorkShelf.

5) Have fun!
