PASSLIST generator for Brute. v.1.0.0 ------------------------------------- First of all, I must tell you that if you are looking for an enormous program with thousands of options, this is NOT the one you are looking for. This program is a very small routine which makes the boring and hard job of creating a "passlist.txt" file for your Brute. I didn't make it in order to break into any computer, I made it to LEARN about my Linux system, so if you use it for hacking don't tell anyone I gave it to you for that purpose, ¨ok?. Feel free to distribute this program if you think this could help anyone. The only thing I want is to know who is using it (this is CARDWARE). Send me an e-mail with any commentaries you have (or bugs) and I'll send you new versions of this program (if they "see the light" ;-) ). Using the program. ------------------ As you can see, the program doesn't need too much information to work. Once you enter the program it asks to you if you have a fixed beginning. What does that mean? Well, it's easy. When you want to enter a system and you now the beginning of a password you don't have to create all the possible passwords with random beginnings. For example, I want to break into my system at home, and I know the root user has as password the combination of the word "root" and some other characters following this word. So, I don't need to make all the passwords beginning with "a", "b", etc... What you have to do then is enter "root" as fixed beginning and then enter 3,4, or whatever you want as maximum number of random caracters per password. This way you won't lose so much space in your hard disk. After that, it asks you the maximum number of random caracters per password. I think this is quite clear. I have fixed this value from 1 to 10 because when you enter a very big number the file size increases exponetially. For example, if you make a file with 3 random caracters per password it would occupy 5 Mbytes in your hard disk and even more if you enter a fixed beginning, so imagine how much space it would need if you enter 10 as random caracters per password. Anyway, if you need more caracters send me an e-mail and I'll change it for you. Once you have entered those parameters it starts generating the passwords. In my Pentium this can take from 1 second to several minutes depending on how many random caracters you want. Other technical information. ---------------------------- I have fixed the range of possible caracters from 32 to 127 (ASCII). If you think another range would be better, only tell me. The file generated is in DOS format, not UNIX, this means there are line feeds and carrier returns after each password.
